Molasses - often referred to as Treacle - is obtained during the processing of sugar beet and sugar cane into the common forms of sugar we all know. Commonly used as a sweetener, when baking and also in the production of rum and brown sugar. Molasses are commonly recognised as a health food due to containing high levels of vitamins and minerals including calcium, manganese, potassium, magnesium, copper and iron as wel being a great source of B Vitamins.
